so i was at dinner with my friend bill, and he was trying to convince me to buy a
mac mini. they're super cool. and teeny. and well i was thinking about it. but then i'd need to get a new monitor. (hafta have a nice flat panel for something that cool. just hafta.)
so... anyways. now i'm trying to pick between two Samsung 19" LCD SyncMaster Monitors.
the
910t and the
193p.
anyone have any ideas ? i still dont understand what the different samsung models differentiate at. very strange.

After looking up the specs:
Looks like the 193p is probably a significantly better monitor - 20ms vs 25ms response, specifically. Better view angle - nearly a full 180 degrees vs 170, and it looks like the 193's probably got a better vertical view angle. The one edge the 910t holds is its brightness - it pushes 260cd/m^2 vs the 193p's 250cd/m^2 - that's like a 4% increase in brightness. So what we're looking at is basically nitpicky stuff. The 193p is your ticket if you're wanting to play games - I'd expect significantly less motion blur. The extra 8 degrees of view angle is nice for when you've got a gaggle of geeks crowding around the monitor because they absolutely must watch that particular bit of video, or something.
The 910t is good for saving 50 bucks.
The naming scheme makes no sense. At all. Bigger number + later letter = worse monitor? Huh?

Re: After looking up the specs:
i also did find out that the 193p is a 3rd gen lcd monitor from samsung. 910 is maybe 2nd. or something. i dunno.February 3 2005, 15:23:59 UTC 7 years ago
the final word.
I think the 193p because it is prettier.....My advice is always sound.

Re: the final word.
I'll have to second this, and for the very same reason even.February 3 2005, 15:25:03 UTC 7 years ago
BUT
They're both CRT.
One thing to consider : refresh rate if you game.

get the sony 19" SDM-HS94P xbrite.
12ms response time (that's right fucking TWELVE)
400 cd/m2 (like staring at the goddamn sun)
500:1 contrast
.294 dot pitch

Didn't think 19's were available with 12ms response.
One of those needs to fall of a truck which I happen to be standing next to, or something.
